What is Honed Health?

Honed Health is an Australian direct-access blood testing service. You order a panel online, get your blood drawn at a pathology collection centre, and receive personalised, plain-English results in a secure online portal.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. Honed is a direct-access service — you order online and no GP referral is required.

Where can I get my blood drawn, and where do you operate?

At a pathology collection centre. There are locations across Australia, and no appointment is needed — print your referral and walk in to whichever centre suits you.

Which panels do you offer and what do they cost?

Three panels: the Essential Health Panel ($249, 28 biomarkers), the Hormone Panel ($299, 8 core hormone tests), and the Performance Panel ($349, 38+ biomarkers for athletes).

Is it a finger prick or a full blood draw?

A full venous blood draw. Finger pricks cannot provide the sample volume needed to test this many markers with lab-grade accuracy.

Which labs process the samples?

Your sample is processed at a NATA-accredited laboratory using RCPA reference ranges — clinical-grade, not a wellness kit.

How do I get my results?

Results are delivered to your secure online portal once the lab has processed your sample. Each result comes with plain-English commentary and personalised recommendations, and if anything needs urgent clinical attention our team contacts you directly.

How is this different from a standard GP health check?

Honed panels report a broad set of markers across performance, recovery, and hormonal health, with personalised, plain-English commentary. They are designed to complement your GP, not replace your usual care.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate or use private health insurance?

Honed is a direct-access service you pay for privately. Because there is no GP referral, these tests are generally not covered by a Medicare rebate. Check your own policy for any private health extras coverage.

How is my health data handled?

Your results are sensitive health information and are handled in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (APPs). We collect only what is necessary for your test. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
