Honed Checkout Guide: Order Your Blood Test in 5 Minutes

Ordering a Honed blood test is straightforward. This guide walks you through each step: from choosing your panel to scheduling your collection appointment.

Before You Start

Have the following ready:

• Your email address
• Your mobile number (for appointment reminders)
• Your Australian address (for collection centre location)
• A debit or credit card (AUD)
• 5 minutes

That's it. No doctor's referral needed. No insurance requirements. Let's go.

Step 1: Choose Your Panel

Visit our panels page or start with our quiz if you're unsure which panel to choose.

Two Options:

• Essential Panel (AUD $249): Comprehensive health assessment covering cardiovascular, metabolic, nutritional, and organ function markers. Perfect for general health tracking or baseline fitness testing.
• Performance Panel (AUD $349): Everything in Essential, plus testosterone, cortisol, creatine kinase, and inflammation markers. Ideal for athletes, serious fitness enthusiasts, and detailed recovery tracking.

Once you've decided, click "Order Now" on the panel you want.

Step 2: Create or Log In to Your Account

First-time users:

• Enter your email address
• Create a password (at least 8 characters)
• Check your email for a confirmation link and verify your account

Returning customers:

• Log in with your email and password
• Skip to Step 4

Account creation takes 2 minutes. We need your account to deliver results securely and track your health over time.

Step 3: Confirm Your Panel and Review Order

You'll see a summary:

• Panel name and markers included
• Price (including GST)
• Estimated delivery time (Results within 3-5 business days of sample collection)

Review and confirm. If you want to change panels, you can go back. Otherwise, proceed to checkout.

Step 4: Enter Your Billing Information

Billing Address:

• Full name (as it appears on your card)
• Street address (must be in Australia)
• Suburb/city
• Postcode
• State

Payment Details:

• Debit or credit card number
• Cardholder name
• Expiry date (MM/YY)
• CVC (3-digit security code on back of card)

We use secure payment processing (SSL encrypted). Your card details are never stored on our servers: they're processed securely by our payment provider.

Step 5: Schedule Your Collection Appointment

After payment is confirmed, you'll choose a collection appointment.

Find a Collection Centre:

• Enter your postcode or suburb
• See available collection centres near you (operated by BGT Pathology's accredited network, including Laverty, PathWest, and other regional providers)

Select a Time:

• Choose a date (appointments typically available within 7 days)
• Choose a time slot (most centres open 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday)
• Confirm your choice

Important: Collection is quick (5-10 minutes). The phlebotomist will take a small blood sample using a standard needle. You don't need an appointment confirmation; your details are in the pathology system, and they'll have your test ready when you arrive.

Collection Centre Details

• Bring photo ID
• Fasting is not required for these panels
• Wear comfortable clothing with accessible arms
• The appointment usually takes 10-15 minutes (shorter if you're not first in queue)
• You'll receive a collection receipt for your records

Step 6: Confirmation & Payment Receipt

After scheduling, you'll see:

• Order confirmation (also emailed to you)
• Collection appointment details (date, time, address, centre phone number)
• Your order number

Check your email for:

• Order confirmation
• Collection appointment details
• A link to access your Honed account

Accessing Your Account

Once you've created an account, you can:

• View your order history
• See appointment details
• Download your results when ready
• View guidance notes explaining your markers
• Order future tests anytime

What Happens Next

On Your Collection Day

Arrive at your appointment time. Tell the phlebotomist your name. They'll verify your details and take your blood sample. The whole process takes 5-15 minutes.

You'll receive a receipt confirming your sample was collected.

After Collection

• Your sample goes to our accredited lab
• Results are ready within 3-5 business days
• You'll receive an email notification when results are available

Accessing Your Results

Log into your Honed account and view:

• Individual marker results
• Your personal range/status (normal, low, high)
• Reference ranges explained
• Guidance notes interpreting what each marker means for your health or fitness

You can download results as a PDF anytime: perfect for sharing with your doctor, coach, or sports scientist.

FAQ: Ordering & Checkout

Q: Do I need a doctor's referral? A: No. Honed tests are available directly to customers in Australia. No referral required.

Q: Can I pay with PayPal or another method? A: Currently, we accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We're expanding payment options: check our website for updates.

Q: What if I need to reschedule my appointment? A: Log into your account and manage your appointment. You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment time. Refunds for cancellations are processed within 5-7 business days.

Q: Can someone else collect on my behalf? A: No. The collection centre needs the person whose blood is being tested to be present with photo ID. This is for safety and pathology protocols.

Q: What if I miss my appointment? A: If you don't show, your test is cancelled and your payment is forfeited (unless cancelled through your account at least 24 hours prior). You can reorder anytime.

Q: How secure is my payment information? A: Your payment is processed through secure, encrypted channels (PCI-DSS compliant). Your card details are not stored on our servers.

Q: Do you offer discount codes? A: Yes, periodically. Check our website or sign up for our newsletter. Beta users have access to HONEDBETA26 (25% off, valid through 2026-09-02).
